Apple has filed patents for all sorts of new technology over the years, but its latest might be the most surprising yet.
The Cupertino tech firm has filed a patent for a paper bag, or more accurately, a process for making paper bags.
According to the patent, which was filed in March but only recently made public, existing white paper bags made from recycled material are particularly flimsy.
Apple says it has come up with a way of producing white bags that are much stronger.

In its patent, filed with the US Patent & Trademark Office, Apple suggests a number of ways that would enable a ‘high-end retail shopping bag’ to retain its white colour while also being eco-friendly.
Apple plans to use a minimum of 60 per cent recycled material in the bags and use nothing but paper in the construction, along with a little glue.
