DESCRIPTION:

The toilet in all its various forms has been either a fixture in a human habitat or a separate facility kept as close by as sanitary reasons will allow. No other feature is quite as significant and necessary.

The act of defecating is a physiological event that is part of the biological functions of the human body. The earliest of humans on the earth and even pre-humans were required to clear their bowels as part of the digestion process. No animal on earth can bypass this process as it is one of the many things we have in common as creatures on the planet. All primates use the squatting position for resting, working, and performing bodily functions. Infants instinctively know that squatting to relieve themselves is natural. It is apparent that this is the way the human was designed to function.

The squatting position is understandably the only position that can be obtained for defecating when no seat is necessary, available, or desired. This position is a natural way and the method the human body was designed to rid itself of solid waste. Many people think that the sitting position is abnormal for the human form and causes health issues relating to the improper positioning of the bowels during defecation. It is testified that the squatting position makes waste elimination faster, easier, and more complete. The position also protects the nerves that control the prostate, bladder, and the uterus from becoming stretched and damaged. The sitting position toilet only came into widespread use in Europe during the nineteenth century. Until then the squatting method was the method used by most people.

The common toilet used in the western world is the sitting toilet that uses a pedestal or “throne” where the users sit at a 90-degree angle or lean forward. The pedestal type toilet requires a water flow to clear the waste from the bowl. This water flow can consist of 3 to 5 gallons depending on the design of the toilet. Constructed of ceramic these toilets have various designs including the tank style with siphon-flush valve, dual flush, tank style with high-pressure assist valve, tankless style with a high-pressure valve and many others with varying degrees of popularity among users.

Many areas of the world the squat toilets are the most popular where people use the facilities in a squatting position. The toilets are installed in the floor and are used by both male and female users. The advantages are not needing an additional toilet seat and in cultures where people wash themselves instead of using toilet paper the use of paper to clean is eliminated. In some areas, both the squatting style and the western sitting style are used, and sometimes both are found in the same facility. In the United States and much of the western world, the sitting design of the toilet is the most prevalent and is the most widely used.

The Easy Poo Sea is an innovative and unique product designed to utilize all the advantages of the sitting position toilet and convert it to the squatting style. The Easy Poo Seat raises the angle of the standard toilet seat to simulate the squatting position. The product provides the user the ideal posture for clearing the bowels while retaining the existing plumbing and toilet facilities. Simply by replacing the seat with the Easy Poo Seat system, the user can take advantage of all of the benefits that come with the squatting position. Quick and inexpensive replacement of the existing toilet seat the Easy Poo Seat conventionally attaches to the toilet and will retain the standard lid. The seat section is angled toward the opening of the seat for efficiency and comfort. Addition options include a telescoping lift model that can convert the seat to the proper angle in an instant and revert it to the sitting position just as quickly. A hand pump is an option for creating a pneumatically operated lift system. Temporary manual lifts are also available to raise the seat temporarily and can be removed quickly and effortlessly when needed. PRODUCT COMPONENT CLARIFICATION:

The “Easy Poo Seat” is an innovative health and hygiene product that has been designed to enhance the position of a person, which dramatically enhances the elimination of feces from the body. The seat is contoured to lift the knees to a more natural angle of repose on the toilet seat, approximating the position assumed when squatting, and changing the spatial arrangements of the intestinal organs, which maximizes the efficiency of elimination. The molded plastic toilet seat is direct replacement of the existing seat and is as easy to use and clean as the standard seat.

Currently, if the user wishes to change their position on the typical toilet seat, they place a foot stool in front of the toilet and raise their feet to rest on the foot stool. This raises the knees and reorganizes the spatial relationship of the internal organs. Use of this foot stool is cumbersome and if the user forgets to bring the foot stool into the bathroom with them, they must proceed without it.

The “Easy Poo Seat” resolves these problems by providing a toilet seat that is raised in the front and contoured along the sides to allow the user to be comfortably situated with the knees raised and the body arranged in the squatting position for the optimum in efficient elimination of feces. The molded plastic toilet seat is easy to install, replacing the standard toilet seat, and is easy to use. The plastic is very durable, supports larger bodies with ease, and is easy to clean.

  • Sitting on a modern toilet typically places the knees at a 90° angle to the user’s abdomen, which actually hinders elimination of feces by substantially pinching off your anal canal. Squatting, with your knees closer to 35° to the user’s abdomen, changes the spatial relationship of your intestinal organs and musculature, relaxing and straightening your alimentary canal and rectum. This re-positioning, allows the user to maximize the efficiency of elimination.

Benefits of raised knees when eliminating feces: This physique position when eliminating feces from the body is much more healthy than sitting on a standard toilet seat with your upper legs at 90° to the abdomen. The results are, but not limited to, the following.

  • The elimination of feces becomes faster, easier, and more complete. This reduces the effect of “fecal stagnation”, which is a cause of appendicitis, colon cancer, and irritable bowel syndrome in adults.
  • This position reduces the tension in the puborectalis muscle.
  • It protects the prostrate nerves and reduces the stretching effect on the uterus and bladder.
  • It is touted to reduce the effect of pressure on anus, reducing hemorrhoids.

The toilet seat and lid: The toilet seat and lid are individually injection molded using urea- formaldehyde plastic in a pure white color. This thermosetting plastic is very durable, is highly resistant to household and bathroom cleaners, resists staining, and is often used in this type of application. The seat and lid are molded with holes for the mounting hardware and have the hinge assembly mounted on them prior to packaging for shelf sales. The toilet seat is molded with sufficient wall thickness to allow users up to 400-pounds in weight to sit upon without degradation. The bottom of the lid and toilet each seat have 4 non-marking rubber feet adhesively bonded to the lower surfaces to prevent noise and scuffing when closed. After assembly, the seat is packaged in a pre-printed, corrugated carton along with a printed installation guide.

  • As an option: Spacers that attach to the bottom of a standard seat can be supplied. These are molded plastic units that adhesively bond to the bottom of the standard toilet seat, raising it to the optimum angle to simulate the squatting position. These blocks are designed to fit between the rubber feet on the bottom of the seat ring and will support up to a 400-pound load without degradation to the toilet seat through flexure.
  • As an additional option: The spacers can be supplied as inflatable devices that operate very much like air bags on a vehicle. These bags are adhesively bonded to the bottom of the existing toilet seat and can be inflated to support the seat, when loaded, at the optimum angle to simulate the squatting position. These air bags would be supplied with an inflating tool and would mate with the self-sealing valves integrated into the air bags.

The hinge assembly: This hinge sub-components are molded using fiberglass reinforced polypropylene (FRP) plastic. This plastic is also supplied in a white the matches the seat and lid. The various sub components are assembled using stainless steel rod components and springs to make the finished hinge assembly. After assembly, the hinge assembly is secured to the lid and seat using stainless steel fasteners.

The Easy Poo Seat is designed to be aesthetic and effective in the application. The relative ease of manufacture and the moderately inexpensive components provide good marketability for the manufacturer. The user benefits from improved bowel and anal health, which should provide considerable market interest in the product.

The invention is illustrated in the following drawings of the essential points as explained to us in the documentation.

Easy Poo Seat

Drawing 1, Block 1: Easy Poo Seat – Side View on Standard Toilet

(1) Conventional porcelain toilet base and back typically found in most USA dwellings. The standard toilet of today was first deployed to most homes in the USA around 1900.

(2) Seat back reservoir holds enough water to permit optimum flushing action. Current toilets sold in the last few years are very efficient in the amount of water used per flush.

(3) The tapered seat allows the user to be positioned optimally over the toilet and to allow a more natural posture for eliminating nitrogenous wastes from the body.

(4) The lid covers the lower section when the toilet is not in use, just like in use on a standard
toilet.

Drawing 1, Block 2: Easy Poo Seat – Top View On Standard Toilet

(5) The lid covers he oval shaped opening in the lower part of the replaceable toilet seat.

(6) The toilet operates normally with the new style lid.

(7) The molded plastic toilet seat is as easy to clean as a standard seat and is highly resistant to bathroom cleaning chemicals.

(8) The lid/seat can easily be tilted up against the reservoir tank when male users wish to urinate. The hinged lid/seat can then be lowered into the resting position and be ready for use.

Drawing 1, Block 3: Easy Poo Seat – Seat Top Without Lid, Side And Top Views

(9) The lower surface of the toilet seat base has 4 rubber spacers adhesively bonded to the seat base to cushion the toilet from the seat base on closure.

(10) The toilet seat lid also has similar, non-marking spacers to reduce noise and impact shocks when the lid is closed against the lower seat base.

(11) The hinge assembly screws to the toilet base using the supplied plastic screws tapered top surface lower nuts and the seat will support up to 400 pounds without degradation.

(12) The hinge assembly can be friction and spring loaded to allow the toilet seat and lid to close slowly without banging down onto the toilet base.

(13) The side edges and front edge are tapered to provide a raised seat for a more natural posture during use.

(14) The seat is molded using urea-formaldehyde resin, which is significantly more durable than wood and will not crack, break, or permanently deform.
