Love Nest
DESCRIPTION:
Conceiving a child is a natural and fulfilling experience for many women and couples. To many, bearing children comes naturally and seeming with little effort but, for many women and couples, the conception of a child can be a frustrating and challenging experience. Circumstances have to be just right for conception to begin, and all the physical events that have to take place within the body must be correct to conceive.
The eggs from the female and the sperm from the male have to come together to create the process of conception. The ovaries located within the woman’s body are responsible for producing the eggs. The ovaries are two almond-shaped glands situated on either side of the uterus. A woman is typically born with one to two million eggs, and the lifespan of the eggs are limited and begin dying almost immediately, and no more production occurs when the woman reaches a certain age.
Throughout a woman’s reproductive years, an average production of four hundred eggs systematically releases to her reproductive system within a cycle. During the middle of the menstrual cycle, an egg reaches maturity and travels into the opening of the fallopian tube. Ovulation is the release of the egg into the fallopian tube to begin the process. The egg lives only around 24 hours after the ovulation process starts, and it must fertilize within that period if conception is to occur. If the egg encounters a healthy sperm on its way to the uterus, the process can begin. If fertilization of the egg from a sperm does not occur before the egg reaches the uterus, then the egg is either dissolved or absorbed back into the body. The release of eggs starts with the first menstrual cycle usually during the teenage years and continues until menopause occurs. Menopause can occur as early as a woman in her forties but can occur later depending on the individual. Once menopause begins the production of eggs from the ovaries ceases to occur.
After intercourse sperm or semen can live in a woman’s reproductive tract for as long as five days. If circumstances dictate that an egg is not in the fallopian tube at the time of intercourse, there is still a chance that an egg may nevertheless arrive in time. The survival of the sperm in the body would emphasize the importance of keeping the sperm in the cervix and uterus area for as long as possible. The best possibility for conceiving depends upon the sperm or semen to remain in the vicinity of the egg for fertilization. There is ample evidence that keeping the body in a prone position can also assist the sperm in staying in the cervix/uterus area. The effect gravity pulling down on the semen can account for a lot of otherwise viable sperm migrating downward and away from the uterus and cervix area resulting in reduced chances for conception. Standing up and physical activity can force a lot of sperm from the cervix and uterus thereby reducing the numbers of sperm present in the vital area. Numbers of sperm may not make it to the cervix and is wasted in the vaginal canal and are naturally expelled or absorbed.
The Love Nest is an innovative and ingenious product designed to capture and assist the sperm into the cervix and uterus as an aid in conception. The product is made of medical grade silicone, molded in a cup shaped receptacle, and features a softly textured exterior. The textured exterior surface serves to assist the receptacle in staying in place while remaining comfortable for the user. A thin band located at the top of the cup helps the cup hold its shape as well as also assisting with keeping the cup in the correct location. Placing the product into the vaginal canal as close to the cervix as possible after intercourse will increase the chances of conception by limiting the migration of sperm away from the cervix and uterus.
Once the Love Nest is in place, the cup will prevent any sperm from drifting downward from the cervix/uterus. The Love Nest concentrates the sperm in the cervix by collecting the semen and reducing the general loss thereby increasing the chances of conception. The Love Nest keeps the semen in and/or near the cervix and uterus where it is necessary for conception. The product, once inserted after intercourse, can be worn between eight and twelve hours comfortably, giving the semen the maximum exposure to the eggs in the cervix/uterus to help with conception. The Love Nest is easily inserted with no special procedures or medical personnel involved. The product is easily removed after sufficient time is allowed for effectiveness. The Love Nest material is designed for multiple uses and easy cleaning.
The Love Nest will increase the chances of conception by applying a simple and effective technique that is inexpensive and does not require any medical procedures or other expensive and complicated measures to be undertaken. The product will allow the individual woman or couple to improve the chances of conceiving a child.

PRODUCT COMPONENT CLARIFICATION:
Abstract: The “Love Nest” is an innovative fertility product that has been designed to capture excess human sperm dispersed throughout the vagina after intercourse and concentrate its location near the opening of the cervix. The inexpensive, efficient, and disposable product is manufactured using inert, medical grade silicone components and it is designed to be worn in the vagina for up to 12 hours with no adverse side effects. After wear, the product can easily be removed using manual means and discarded or cleansed and reused. The product is individually wrapped and can be sold with an optional protective case and mobility enhancing spray.
Problem description: Currently, after intercourse, the vagina has been inseminated with 180 to 400 million sperm. These microscopic (50 millionths of an inch) spermatozoa are conditioned to move forward, swimming by moving their tails and propelling the 5 micron heads every which way within the vagina. Some that move toward the closed end of the vagina, encounter the opening to the uterus, the cervix, and swim into the uterus to fertilize the ovum. If an egg is attached to the wall of the uterus and the spermatozoa contacts the egg, the egg can be fertilized and cell differentiation (growth) can commence. However, there are literally hundreds of things that can go wrong and prevent the pregnancy from occurring.
Solution: One of these problems is the low, (or lower) sperm count. When the sperm count drops to below 20 million per ejaculation, the chances of getting pregnant are virtually zero. The “Love Nest” is designed to economically resolve this problem by collecting any errant sperm in the vagina and positioning them at or near the cervical opening. This low-cost solution, significantly improves the probability of movement into the uterus, dramatically increasing the potential of a viable spermatozoa advancing into the uterus and fertilizing the egg.
Use: Directly after intercourse, the “Love Nest” is retrieved from the packaging, or the storage container, and carefully inserted into the vagina with the larger cupped shape upward toward the cervix. The user then gently pushes it up into the vagina until the upper edge of the cupped interior comes to rest upon the exterior surface of the vagina surrounding the cervix. The upper rubber ring on the product gently ‘wipes’ the interior walls of the vagina during insertion and captures almost all of the dispersed sperm in the vagina within the cup. Then the cup’s shape, gravity, the sperm’s own mobility, and the interior cup shape allows the sperm to transition downward in the cup where it is concentrated to improve the probability of finding the cervical opening. After leaving the “Love Nest” product in place for a few, or up to a maximum of 12, hours, the user extracts the “Love Nest” manually. The user may choose to permanently dispose or clean and store in the protective container for future use. The medical grade components and the flexible construction allow easy insertion with no effect upon the captured spermatozoa, significantly improving the chance to get pregnant by locating them near the cervix.
- As an option: the user can extract the “Love Nest” from the vagina, rinse out the sperm, wash the cup in soap and water, rinse in tap water, and allowed to air dry. Then it is sprayed with the supplied ‘motility enhancer’ described below. After which, the cleaned “Love Nest” is stored in the available medical grade, polypropylene storage case for the next use. The medical grade silicone “Love Nest” product is very durable and can be used many times without degradation.
The “Love Nest” product is fabricated using medical grade, inert materials. (This material meets all USP class VI and ISO 10993 standards). These materials are, but not limited to, the following items.
- The Love Nest product: The “Love Nest” product is molded using medical grade, room temperature vulcanizing, silicone rubber in permanent molds. This rubber is very durable, is highly resistant to water, human fluids, and household chemicals, and is typically used in this type of application. The “Love Nest” is typically supplied in a translucent colorless rubber but can also be supplied in almost any tinted color, so a distinctive color may be chosen to enhance the product recognition factor, which can dramatically improve the market adoption of the product.
- The molding operation: The molding of the device is performed on a large carousel. The molds are opened, blown clean with sanitized air, and filled with the appropriate amount of medical grade silicone rubber. After filling, the mold is closed, rotated 360° several times to insure the rubber flows into all the mold cavities. Then the carousel arm holding the mold is advanced into a 200° F area to enhance the curing of the rubber. The carousel is advanced step by step until the mold nears the start position. Then, after the curing and air-cooling steps, the mold is opened and the product is blown out, clearing the mold for the blast of sterilizing cleansing air, and then the process is repeated. The molding process requires no hands-on labor, just supervision to insure it is operating properly and the rubber supply is adequate. All the features described in the illustration are formed in the process and after molding, washing, and sanitizing, individual “Love Nests” are packaged in a sterile plastic bag and sealed for shipment. Then lots of five are packaged in the retail point-of-sale packaging.
- As an option: After sanitization and prior to packaging, the interior surface of each of the cups can be sprayed with a very thin film of potassium, magnesium, and fructose at a Ph of 7 to 7.5, hereafter named “Motility Enhancer”. After spraying, the film is dried and then the product is packaged in a sterile plastic bag and sealed for shipment. This coating increases the motility of the sperm by providing the correct Ph environment and feeding them sugar and electrolytes to enhance activity. This product is also sold directly to the consumer, in a spray bottle, on the manufacturer’s Internet store or is available at designated retail outlets.
The “Love Nest” is designed to be aesthetic and effective in the application. The relative ease of manufacture and the moderately inexpensive components provide good marketability for the manufacturer. The user benefits from inexpensive, easy to use, and a very efficient fertility enhancement, which should provide considerable market interest in the product.
The invention is illustrated in the following drawings of the essential points as explained to us in the documentation.
Drawing 1, Block 1: Love Nest – Top and Side Views
(1) The product is inserted in the vagina after intercourse to make a seal against the vaginal wall to concentrate the semen near the cervix/uterus opening, significantly improving the chance for impregnation.
(2) The molded medical grade silicone rubber product is flexible enough to allow easy insertion in the vagina and the diameter is large enough to gently push against the vaginal wall, preventing semen loss.
(3) The molded rubber adjusts to fit almost any vaginal wall, preventing the backflow of semen away from the cervix/uterus.
(4) The translucent silicone rubber can be supplied in clear or can be tinted in almost any color to enhance market adoption.
(5) The silicone rubber does not react to or affect the sperm life during its entrapment.
(6) The small protrusions on the outer wall allow the product to gently grip the vaginal wall, preventing any inadvertent movement, yet will break any seal made on the vaginal wall when it is manually moved, so the product can be easily removed after use.
